RHAPSODY IN SCHOOL — SCHOOL PROJECTS WITH MUSICIANS

Classical music is one of those things that are increasingly vanishing from a child’s
home life. Direct contact with leading artists, who can communicate their enthusiasm
for the music, can be “catching” for children and teenagers and attract them to music.

“Many of the students at the Josef-Albers-Gymnasium in Bottrop paid rapt attention
on April 15, 2008 to the 28-year-old pianist Herbert Schuch, who featured in the
educational project ‘Rhapsody in School’. He played classical pieces and student
requests such as ‘For Elise’ and ‘Carnival of the Animals’, gave a frank account of his
experiences and answered professional and personal questions.”
